Aurora Borealis, Nome Alaska
AuroraPage1: Photos from the 29th of September 2000, and the 3rd of October.
These 2 substorms were quite intense, and each event lasted about 3 minutes. On the 3rd, from about 10:00pm ADT, I had my Obsession 20" Newtonian telescope out and was having the time of my life. There was the usual glow low on the northern horizon, but it didn't interfere with the views. Then it started again...

Films: (29 Sep) Fuji Superia 400, 6 and 8 seconds.
            (3 Oct) Fuji NHG Pro 800, 15 -20 seconds (telescope silouettes) 10 & 13 sec's after.

Concentric circles. This error is caused by the UV filter I had not removed prior to the "event" series on the 3rd. You'll see it on most of these photos from this date. This is a problem mostly unique to photographing auroras, due to the specific wavelengths of light generated. I post this message in hopes that others can avoid this mistake.
