Aurora Borealis, Nome Alaska
Leonids: Every year in mid November, our planet passes through the dust cloud(s) left behind by the comet Tempel-Tuttle in her previous passes by our sun. This year and last, Earth entered the most dense regions, hundreds of years old, (as predicted) and produced astonishing "shooting stars".
I'm out of my element here, and did my best. In 2001, I nailed a couple moderate fellows exiting the constellation Leo. In 2002, all evaded my my camera's FOV, but the Aurora Borealis shone through the full moonlight with ease, for a few minutes...
2001: Fireball smoke train several minutes old.
2001: A pair of meteors passing Orion.
2002: Full moon. I saw about 12 meteors, but all evaded my camera's lens.
