A genuine jack-of-all trades, Dominic Cantin from Quebec City Canada has this great collection of Aurora and deepsky photos. All taken with a 35mm SLR. Full details about photo settings, etc. **Aug 7, 2001 check out Dominic's recent photo, featured on NASA's "Astronomy Photo of the Day". Not surprised.

Here are links to a few of my favorite web sites. Most are related to the subject at hand, a few are not.
Beautiful mid-latitude auroras, and some great deep-sky photographs! Lots of info about the group. **Check out one of NIAstro member James Wallach's photos in your April 2001 issue of Sky & Telescope Magazine! (and of course, on this NIA link as well).
See how our sun effects the conditions around our planet. THE site to watch.

Rich and Sue Owens have this excellent site with a collection of aurora pictures from various Alaskan photographers. Great theme music completes the mood.

The ultimate light bucket. Don't just detect those faint galaxies. Study them in exquisite detail. The photo on the right shows Obsession's 20-inch "mid sized" scope. Yes, they get bigger.

Reviews of 80+ telescopes, A barrage of accessory reviews. Ed Ting pulls no punches here. Lots of humor also.

You'll be here for hours on this virtual tour of the solar system by Calvin Hamilton. A huge collection of NASA photos and animations as well.

These premium eyepieces will bring out the best in any telescope. "...there isn't a dog among them" -- Ed Ting.
(That's my 31mm Nagler5 "grenade" at far left).

Beautiful multi-colored aurora photos. Great explinations describing what you see. Dennis Anderson of Homer, Alaska, travels many miles to bring us these shots.
Fractal graphics. DOS Lives! My favorite program. To groosly simplify the idea: A deceptively simple mathematical formula is caculated millions of times for each pixel on your monitor. The software assigns a different color for each "answer", (for each pixel) and waa-laa. Here's the classic Mandelbrot set zoomed in 70x and 4.408e008x. Don't get me started.

CLICK on the link below. Don't ask why, just do it now. Jan Curtis's unique style of pairing images really shows off the dynamics of the auroras. Full articles on when and how to get great photos.

Beautiful aurora scenes from Southern Finland! Tom Eklund's favorite "summer place" on a scenic lake makes for some wild photos.

Aurora Australis: The "Southern Lights". I find it really intriguing to see the Southern Cross in several photos. This great site by Paul Moss in New Zealand specializes in, well, just about everything Nature. Wildlife, Aurora, ....
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Beautiful photos and multimedia shows of just about everything Arctic. Kenneth Isaksson in Northern Sweden has this great site that covers everything from nature and science to the environment.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Wonderful astrophotography of deep-sky, and solar system objects. Observing marathons. Lots of just plain good science and physics. Richard Bell brings it all. His "Personal astronomers" page of over 330 links alone is worth the visit.

Absolutely wonderous nature photography by Chris VenHaus. Beautiful monochrome images as well. This site is a must-see.

Stan Richard from Iowa takes these great photos of atmospheric effects & storms, Aurora Borealis, and a variety of astronomical material. Stan's work is also featured in NASA's Astronomy Photo of the Day website.
Beautiful original watercolor paintings, pencil drawings, and matted posters are available to order from Robin Street-Morris. Robin's appreciation for nature shows well here.
Checked 22 December 2002.

Beautiful nature photography by Ken Cravillion, North of Oshkosh, Wisconsin. Some very facinating long exposure daylight photos. This huge site likely has just what you're looking for.
